Mindful Reflexology
Chronic stress can wreak havoc on both our minds and every system in our bodies, leaving us vulnerable to illness. Did you know that at least 1 in 4 people around the world now report daily stress levels in the high to severe range and 90% of doctor visits are stress-related. Mindful reflexology creates the space for us to just be present, to nourish and heal our bodies, reset natural functioning, and release tension, supporting us to naturally move out of struggle with stress, anxiety and depression.
What is Reflexology?
Reflexology has been used as a natural form of healing for centuries. It activates the body’s ‘relaxation response’, increasing circulation to the detoxification organs and systems and restores the body’s state of balance. It works off the principle that every part of your body has a reflex or reflex area on the feet. When these reflexes are stimulated the body’s natural electrical energy works along the nervous system to clear any blockages and increase energy flow.
The physical, mental and emotional benefits of Reflexology make it especially helpful for all stress-related conditions, and for those living with severe stress, anxiety and depression, it can be life changing.

How Mindful Reflexology is different?
Mindful reflexology sessions focus on stimulating the reflexes that play a key role in stress, anxiety, and depression. Mindfulness of body, mind and emotions will be introduced to bring awareness into the ‘here and now,’ encouraging the mind and body to relax, so healing can begin, whether physical, emotional, or both.
Blending mindfulness with reflexology is the perfect pairing. By using the body as a way to awareness, coming into the senses and paying attention to the small experiences that make up the reflexology experience… noticing bodily sensations, thoughts, and feelings in each moment... it’s a simple way to not only feel more calm and relaxed, but experience greater self-awareness and clarity of mind, leading to increased resilience and ease of wellbeing.

What are the benefits of Mindful Relexology?
Reflexology adjusts our body’s response to stress and benefits our mental health by stimulating the endocrine glands to release ‘the ‘feel-good’ and ‘happy’ hormones,’ -endorphins; serotonin; and dopamine – to improve our mood and help us feel happier, more content and less worried, irritable and stressed. Other benefits include:
- Promotes relaxation and healthy sleeping patterns
- Strengthens and supports the immune system
- Helps to relieve pain that often impacts mental health
- Increases energy levels and enhances resilience
- Promotes wellness and a greater sense of wellbeing
What you can expect
Mindful reflexology treatments are infused with mindfulness and target key reflexes for reducing stress, anxiety and depression. You will relax on a massage table, or in a zero-gravity recliner, comfortable and cosy under a blanket, and always remain fully clothed, except your feet, of course!
The session will begin with an invitation for you to come into the present, to set an intention for the session, and bring your full attention and awareness to your body and into the senses – simply resting in awareness. During your session, specialised techniques and specific reflexes are applied to the feet to address your individual needs. At the end of the treatment, you will feel more relaxed, feel back in balance and better able to cope with the stresses and challenges of life.
*An initial health & wellness summary is done at first session to discuss any health issues, and then a wellness plan is worked out together.
