Wayapa Wuurrk®
Wayapa Wuurrk® as a way of being, offers a fresh lens through exploration of natures’ elements and appreciation of ancestral wisdom and their ways of living in harmony with nature. As modern day earth stewards, we are encouraged to recognise the interconnectedness of our own wellbeing and that of our environment. A journey that offers reflection, activation and connection by exploring what it truly means to be well.
What is Wayapa Wuurrk®?
Wayapa Wuurrk® — meaning to Connect in the language of the Peek Whurrung People of South West Victoria was born from ancient knowledge and a deep truth: real wellbeing cannot exist without connection to the Earth. In 2013, Jamie Marloo Thomas — a proud Gunnai/Kurnai and Maar man — began developing Wayapa Wuurrk as a practice to shift how we think about wellness. His vision was to reintroduce Earth into the well-known concept of “Mind, Body, Spirit,” creating a holistic approach that placed Country at its core.
A year later, in 2014, Wayapa Wuurrk® became the first Indigenous wellness modality accredited by the International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT). What began as Jamie’s vision has since grown into a global movement, embraced and shared by a diverse community of certified practitioners who walk gently with the Earth and guide others to do the same.

How Wayapa Wuurrk® is different?
Wayapa Wuurrk® is an Earth-centred practice, rooted in ancient Indigenous wisdom, teaching us that caring for Country is the first step to creating balance in Earth, Mind, Body and Spirit.
For over 80, 000 years, the world’s oldest continuous culture has thrived by living in harmony with the land – and through Wayapa Wuurrk®, we are invited to remember and walk this path again.
Today, so many of us feel disconnected from our environment, our communities, our food, and our Spirit. Through Earth mindfulness, storytelling, gentle physical movement, and daily actions to care for the planet, Wayapa Wuurrk® restores belonging and nurtures holistic wellbeing.

“I believe that we are all Earth people, some are just more disconnected than others.
As a Traditional Custodian, it is my responsibility to share my connection to this Country and teach others
how to respect and care for it, to heal it and let it heal us. So that is why I created Wayapa®.”
